Default 1970 Chevy car hauler

1970 Chevy wedge bed (or ramp bed, whatever you want to call it). We've had it for a long time. Dad used it to haul cars for his business and we used it to haul our race car for years. As you can see it's been sitting for a few years but it's actually still fairly solid considering. It will run, the tires will pump up, and it will move. It does have a rod knocking though. I would also say it needs tires and I would check out the brakes. Winch worked last time it was used, has ramps with it, and built in tool boxes on each side. $2500

I pushed around on the driver's side floor yesterday and it seemed solid. I'll take a better look and maybe get some pics of the floors and ramps this week. It might be the weekend before I get to it but I'll do it as soon as I can. Thanks.

It has a 4.10 gear in it and we have a complete rear end with a 3.73 that goes with the truck and a disc brake set-up that goes with the truck. We bought the 3.73 because we had plans to put a Pontiac 400 in it and thought that would work better. But Dad has finally decided to retire so parts and projects have to go.

More pics. There's a pic with a ramp out. Yes, it has both ramps. I just didn't feel like pulling both out. The bed is just over 15 ft. long.

He doesn't really want to sell it, but it's not doing us any good so there's no point in keeping it. He's retiring. Trying to sell everything, parts, car lot, all of it. Then maybe he'll finally get the 62 back on the road.

Kevin and I both offered to help with that one! Call when you guys get motivated. I know he has an attachment to that truck.

Ever seen how people react on that show "Hoarders" when they start getting rid of their stuff? We weren't sure whether we should be concerned that he might start drinking or just go ahead and promote the idea. LOL

The hauler is in a good home. I want to thank Dave (and Jim) for making this a smooth transaction.

I could tell from the minute I first met Jim and started to talk about the hauler, he had a sentimental attachment to it. I think most of us here understand.

I've already addressed a few of the minor things (tune-up, fuel pump, oil change). Next up is some tires, brakes and lighting/wiring fixes and will tackle the others as time and funds allow.

For now, here she is waiting for me to make room in the barn so she can stay out of the elements.

Thanks again to the Hillard family,

Tony
