Keep it until you have a engine in your car! There could be many things you will have to go out and buy.I always keep timing covers, oil pan, valley covers, cam retaing plate, fuel pump drive etc etc etc.The pistons and rods go in the trash, maybe someone might need a block, let that be one of the last to go with the 2 bbl intake.

Keep it for now. I picked up 2 locked up 400s just for the bolts, pulleys, brackets, and all the other bolt ons. So much easier than going to some store or salvage yard every time you need some little piece you wouldn't normally think of.

I could use the upper dipstick tube that is secured by the valve cover bolt along with the dipstick.

Neither one works with later engines so you won't be needing them for your new engine build.

I'll have to shoot by your house sometime soon before it wears a hole in your trunk floor.

Might keep the block in case I ever decide that a butler 382 stroker kit would be fun. The intake is two barrel that's been helicoiled in all 4 holes so it's junk. Blocks not hurt but the crank and rods are done. Guy coming tomorrow to buy the trans and flex plate. I was planning on building a motor but I had a friend wreck a 73 firebird with a freshened up but not rebuilt 455 that he is gonna sell me for 2000 complete from carb to pan. Figure that will get me around for a while when I'm ready then I'll buy the butler kit and make a 503 lol

In all seriousness I dont have room to store this thing nor do I have the strength roll it around on the floor. Last chance, if anyone wants brackets or anything else let me know otherwise first of next week its going to scrap heap

David,

Thanks for getting the dipstick tube out to me, much appreciated. It's in fine shape with quite a bit of the original blue paint still intact, the coating of grime preserved it nicely.

Thanks again, Bart
