Default Bracket for vacuum bypass heater valve for ac cars.

Can someone please post a picture of the bracket that hold the bypass heater valve on the inner fender on a 70 with Ac? Someone removed the one from my car.

Thanks. That's it. Do you have any extra ones you want to sell? Looks like something Craig could make very easily

I'm pretty sure I still have the one in the picture sitting in a box in the garage. I'll look for it later today and let you know.

It should be flat where the valve attaches, the one in pic above looks like it might be slightly bent. I can make some if there's any demand and Craig isn't interested in making them. Anyone know approximate value of a low mileage used valve with bracket? I have one I keep saying I'll put on Ebay I took off my 70 when I removed the HVAC.

I don't think there will be a big demand for the brackets. Thanks for posting the pics guys. John let me know how much you would want to make 3 brackets.

I need one. It is missing from my 1970 Formula. I prefer buying an original one if anyone has one in good condition for sale. I would consider one made like original as an alternative.. Please provide details if going to sell. Or provide detailed measurements so I could make my own.

I made a few out of 16 gauge I had but the originals were 15 gauge. The 16 is kinda wimpy for the application, and even the 15 wasn't really thick enough for the thin places on the sides of the large hole. I tried to source 15 locally but my metal supplier doesn't carry it. Most common sold now is 14 gauge and 16 gauge. I was out of 14 gauge so waiting on shipment. When it arrives I'll make some unless Craig chimes in and wants to make them. Parts like this are money losers for guys like Craig and I. Although we can make them, doing it by hand takes too much time. This kind of piece was originally made on a punch press that could spit them out in a second. Guys like us do it for the hobby and usually price the items by what we think the perceived value is rather than our actual expenses of time, materials, tool wear, etc. I'd guess these as like a $15.00 part. Interested to know what folks think a part like this should cost.

Pic of pattern and some thinner gauge test pieces before final bend.

I got a original from a member and I was going to have Craig make me three of them but you beat him to it. I'm fine with 15 each. I hear you on it being a money loser. I don't think there is going to be much of a market for these. After this I'm done with AC cars.

Please count me in for one. Price $15.00 seems very inexpensive to me. Would expect to pay
more considering the cost of material and time. PM when ready.

Made a batch of brackets, will send PMs. Pretty sure I can cover current world wide demand. Will send out the ones for you guys and include them as product on the Lab-14.com online store for anyone else. They'll be $19.95 on the website. Takes a while per unit even making a bunch at the same time. They're small so shipping will be USPS first class.

Thanks to those who posted in the thread and those who PMed me after seeing I was making them. All of yours were shipped a week or more ago so you should have all received them and I hope you're happy with them. I've listed the brackets on the website here https://lab-14.myshopify.com/product...ck-for-details for those who may find this thread in a search. I know these weren't used very long but does anyone know if were they '70 only? If they were used after that I'd change the title in the online store listing so those searching with the googles or whatever can find them.

John, you should put the GM part number on your web site in the search tags or someplace on the page so if someone searches the Internet they can get a hit on your page. Here's the info I find on that bracket. Looks like it was used in 1969 as well.

9797596 9.795 All F/A.C BRACKET, valve 1 1969 1971 9-68
