Default Cad plating service ? ?

Can anyone suggest someone that could plate my hood latch (secondary catch hook) and latch bolt in an original plated finish ?

Not interested in paint, but if the price is too high then I'll just leave them painted

I understand they were originally gold cad plated but today a yellow zinc chromate is probably the closest available

I'm in MA so the closer the better I suppose

One price so far (for the two small items) was "starting at $150.00", that's too high for me and this car

thanks in advance for any suggestions and help as always

I've used both, http://www.eps-plating.com/ and http://www.brakeboosters.com/ for different services. Both turned out well and are 'cheaper' than what you mentioned. Only thing is that they are on the west side of the country.

I can get them done in yellow zinc (zinc chromate). Some plate the latch bright zinc (silver) and the bolt yellow zinc (gold). I did the spring in black zinc. Just let me know what colors you want. .

Will you have them prepared for plating or do you want me to do that? If you prepare them for plating, $20. If I prepare them, $30 plus the shipping back to you. Shipping will be $15 or less.

The picture gives you an idea of what they'll look like. If they're media blasted, finish is satin. If they are polished with Scotchbrite or a wire wheel, finis is shiny.

Turnaround will be about 14 days after I get them here.

I have used these folks in Houston for years to cad plate carburetor components mostly but they will cad plate anything and you can specify silver or gold. They have a $90 minimum so I always take them a bucket full of components and parts. They have plated hood latch components for me. The owners name is Mike Reeder but we are not related and weren't aware of each other until I started taking them work.

Here' s my '64 latch done in 2011. Note the spring is done in black zinc. You can have it any color you want--if you leave it in place, it'll be the color of the latch.

I'm taking parts to get plated next week, so if you want yours done soon, send them asap.
