Well long time between posts..... life gets in the way. Car is up and running for couple weeks. Final assembly went great and then off to the dyno. Made 22 pulls trying different jetting swapping rockers and switching intakes and carbs.
So....very interesting facts with the Quadrajet and ported RPM. At 3200 it made 576 lbs and kept climbing and at 4400 609. HP was 578 . The torque curve was just fantastic .
Played with timing etc and tweaked the hanger . Timing was set at 32 total. That was the best with that deal.
Then the T-2 ported was bolted on with my big 4500 style carb which has been fantastic for the last couple yrs.
Lost 50 lbs at 3200...it climbed but caught up at 4500 but never surpassed the RPM. Big carb made 12 more hp with 4 jet changes, but the average numbers dont lie.
This combo has 1:65s on intake and 1:5s exh. Tried 1:6s on ex for a test and lost 22 hp.
So back we go and ended it there. It was a long day and CNC came out, had fun and we learned lots.
The guy who runs this dyno never had a Pontiac (stroker) on it and was blown away with the numbers . Hes a great guy and a big Mopar guy. He now has seen something different.
So went for the first run to a car show 40 miles away and the engine runs fantastic. The street manners are nice and very enjoyable. Car has been very sorted out and ran well for the last couple yrs but issues do crop up and throw a curve ball at you. As the start of this thread i didn't plan or budget for this deal but...got to fix it and move on.
Hope to get out to the track shortly. I am going to Norwalk for the first time and want to make sure everything is good.
Want to thank Bill Little in London Ont for the engine build. Also a shout out to a friend Paul Ward for the Quadrajet build couple yrs back.
I also like to thank some members here for there insight and info, lucky to have this site to research from.

Good results, congratulations.

Care to share information on the custom hydraulic roller cam ? And the lifters ?

Great work on testing ratios, learning what the engine really wants.
As we know most put 1.65 rockers on both sides and leave them.

I'm not surprised by your Dominator result, I know strong runners near 700 HP prefer 4150 for their combination. Very low 10s at 3800 lbs.

Lots of work and planning usually pays off. Nice to hear Paul's carb is still hanging in there! It will be interesting to compare both carb/manifold setups at the track. Which one are you running on the street with?

Hey Ernie running the Quad right now...always worked as u know. Great drivability and idels at 850.
Yes the plan is to run both intake carb combos the same day.
The build is my old block ..41.65 bore with custom Diamond pistons Total seal gapless rings. Compression at 10:3. Scat forged crank and forged H beams.
Using my old E-Heads . Got some better low lift numbers out of them . This was the focus for the build. At 600 /344..top end flow.
Using Harland Sharp rockers and restricted push rods. Butler Pro pump i had been using. Romac Balancer and chain again from before
Cam is a custom Inverted radius hyd grind . 400 lobe 249 /233 110 LSA /107. Using Howard's hyd lifters. Can add to the specs if someone wants. Its a choice we both looked at hard. Was it the best choice ,dont know but im happy so far. There is power on the table if i went to a solid roller , but i only run a 3:42 and it doesnt make sense for me . Street car first, but i like to get to the track and have fun .
Not sure what im leaving out. Ask away ...i keep no secrets..

How high after peak HP did you pull? Does it drop fast after peak?

Yes it does drop , but carries to 6k all runs to 6100 but 6 k was really the threshold.
So on both about 25-30 hp but 80 lb/ 90 torque .
Big carb and T-2 more hp and it carries it longer but increase only 12-16 hp
Got my numbers mixed ...T-2 peak at 5600 .

A few weeks ago I ran Dynomation 6 for.
455 with 4.21 stroke.
9.5 compression.
ported dport 265 cfm intake, 215 cfm exhaust.
RPM intake.
.380 lift hyd roller lobes with 1.65 rockers.
1.75 headers.

I told it to optimize from 3000 to 5500.
It generated 242 @ .050 intake, 234 @ .050 exhaust.
108 LSA installed at 107 centerline.

Your head numbers are strong, well suited for 4000 to 6000 RPM.
Would be interesting to see bench numbers through each intake.

Its money well spent if some sticky tires and Torque are involved.
You did well for along time Ernie with your set-up.
