I am trying to find the compressed thickness of the production 1968 head gasket, P/N 9790910 and of the supercession P/N 9790911.
I have a set of used 910 gaskets that have an average thickness of .040" and new 911 gaskets that have an average thickness of .060". Both sets of gaskets have VC number 3413T, and a VIC-2-FOLD stamp. Any information is appreciated

You may find some information within Royal Bobcat specs and literature about the web.
Aftermarket gaskets I have measured, new and same gasket used, measured the same everywhere new vs used, except for the fire ring, that seems to be the only area where there is crush from new to used. Quick comparison, but done with a micrometer. HTH 😎 |

I found in old HO Racing Book the 9790910 is .040/.045" nominal thickness ( .038" crushed thickness ) and 9790911 is .055/.060" nominal thickness ( .048" crushed thickness )

Thank you, that is just what I was looking for. I was under the impression that the 911 replaced/superceeded the 910s, but it appears that they are not an exact replacement. It's interesting that the VC number is the same between them.

Application wise if I recall right the only 1968 motors to get the thinner of the two head gaskets was the mid year 400 RAII and the 376 hp 428 HO motor.
