Default Factory Cruise troubleshooting Perfect Circle Regulator

This is what happening .I have a service manual and have confirmed everything is working as it should to the regulator.
The electrical circuit is correct to the servo.
when setting, it sets and will work as long as I keep the switch in the midway position
As soon as i let it go to the cruise (all the way out) poistion it releases.i think that is C terminal to A terminal
so what is supposes to hold it what part needs checked inside the unit to repair it anyone had one apart and repaired it or know someone that will check it out ?

your title says "factory cruise"....Is yours an original late 60's early 70,s. if so,.More than likely you have a vacuum leak somewhere..holding the button is electrically sustaining the speed releasing it, the vacuum should hold it..the brake switch releases the vacuum to the servo...check for vacuum leaks at all connections and hoses..could be inside the servo unit/regulator .. that's no good

bellows is a common leaking problem.. they do reproduce them! also, with both ports disconnected the m port (smaller one ) should hold vacuum when applied ( just use a tube and suck on it) don't want too much vacuum on it

Glad you got it!! happy to help...yep those old plastic connectors get brittle from time and heat...it will be difficult to find ribbed hoses that big.. I did a search and could not find any.. even the local parts houses..no ...ebay no!. had to special order at napa to get them (non-ribbed).. they seem to be getting hard to find..
