Its terrible. Was a volunteer firefighter for 28 years.
Saddest part where house fires so advanced by the time dispatched all we could do was suppress the structure while families watching losing everything... My family and some old FD buds are going through all our cloths don't ware anymore to send.

Here's a link to the Timbs special. It was only one of many rare cars that were destroyed. But, we need to remember all the lives lost and keep this in perspective. Lives always come first! The second paragraph in the link says it all.

...we learned about this yesterday afternoon. the Cunningham Car was part of our family car collection for many years. my dad has ties to that car all the way back to the mid 1950's. my father was also part of the update/ restoration in 1972 when Bill Roach found it as a shell. later on, I found the car for sale in 1988 and my dad immediately bought it! after driving it for a decade, he than decided to another resto/makeover to what was it's current configuration for the 50th Anniversary of the Oakland Roadster Show in 1998. he ultimately decided to see it in about 2002 and the rest is history. this car was a very well known and covered car for its time back in the day, and it's pretty sad for us here as we have a very personal connection to it...our heats goes out to Gary and his wife for the loss of pretty much everything they had invested in. he lost some serious hardware unfortunately...
