Default My 65 GTO project

Finally got the 65 to where it starts runs(rough) and stops so moved it from the storage space out to my shop. Here are a few pictures. 265-50-15s on the front and 275-60-15s on the rear on 81 TA Turbo wheels-I think they look fairly decent on it almost like the hubcaps with the knock off nuts on them. Here is where is is until today moved things around as I had a 2 post and a 4 post lift delivered.

Real PHS GTO 4bbl 3 speed manual power nothing car.

A few of the wheels Right front fender a hair closer as not as centered as the left but fenders and all other panels line up OK about 3/8 difference but with eth fat tires rubbed til I tweaked it,.

This look like a factory wiper blade? Has ANCO on it bottom part chrome top part with the "wing" looks like satin stainless. Also noticed the windshield trim retainers on both side on the posts are on with Phillips head screws-all of them , whereas the others have the welded on tab.

Plan is build a 4" stroke motor with my RAIV heads, use the racing Richmond 5 speed(unless the straight gears are too much of a pain, a 12 bolt and have a strong street car. Short term when the mild 400 comes out of the 81 put it and a Muncie in it as the original 389 is REAL tired. #1 runs cooler and fouls plugs, and a heck of a clutch chatter. But in needs trunk floor, driver's front floorboard, right rear quarter dent , metal around rear window and a little around windshield so a moderate project to get body body work done.

Once the tractor is in the shop less room and have a Late Model asphalt car still over in storage-bought it after they as ended the wall but mainly the rear fuel cell area. Could part it out for more than I have in it.

I'm liking this post on tire sizes, Do they not show any scuffs on them?

The passenger side fender very front lower corner would rub the outer edge of the tire but I bent the edge in,. not sure how it will be with the chrome fender pieces back on. And no hard launches to see if the rear rubs when it squats, The more I look at the front tires the more I like it!

Yes but front springs are original so may be sagging. Drivers side looks a little lower than passenger side.. Rear springs are new, Used MOOG Chevelle springs as they have a hair more rate and GTO springs were a little lower in rear. Ames catalog says something about early GTOs used a softer one and factory switched.
