need 3.5" muffler recomendation
I have been running Dyno max ultra flows full case mufflers for the last few years. I bought the stainless steel ones thinking they would last for a long time. The dam inner perforated tube is regular steel. Guess what rusted out and tried to make it's way out of the muffler along with fiberglass.
My 10.0 index class requires mufflers so have to get new ones. Anyone know of ones that are stainless steel throughout? I was looking at Magna Flow"s. |

I'm pleased with the Pypes Race Pro 3.5" on mine. I cannot say if they are stainless throughout.

Here's a video of mine. basically 4 ft. of 3 1/2" straight pipe, 3 1/2" Race Pro mufflers and turn down/outs. You should be able to pick the sound of my car out from the other car.

Do the Pypes race flow mufflers choke down inside? I want to make sure they are a full 3.5 inside.. If they do I might try them this time.

I'm pretty sure they are the same size inside as the 3 1/2" pipe. If they weren't, I would have made a mental note about the reduction. My car is about .08 quicker when I take the mufflers off which is probably only 20 lbs weight so they do cost me a few HP.

The single FlowMaster 40-series on the Bandit is the same one Wangers put on it at least 13 years ago- not stainless, but long lasting. It's 3.5" in and 3.0" out.

We have the Magnaflows on Jakes car. 3.5” in/out. Forgot the number. They are very short. We have an X pipe also. Sounds great. Haven’t had any issues rusting out. Been on the car since 2014.

I have 3" Flowmaster 50 series. They are very long and took some work to make fit. I have the Aluminized version not stainless. But they are 11 years old and in great shape with no rust. Love the sound of Flowmasters.

For performance i would never choose a chamber type muffler (spin tech & Flowmaster), a straight through design is better for performance. I ran the Pypes race mufflers and ran 9.0s, i tried with and without the exhause and even though the car was 50lbs lighter without the exhaust it ran almost the same et/mph. I don't know how long they'll last but performance wise they were great.
