Changing multiple cam on dyno
Just wondering if anyone has a good way to get the lifters out of the way during cam changes. Not having to remove intake and valley pan would really speed things up. And time is money when it comes to dyno sessions.

Maybe a 8 of those telescoping magnet that fits the pushrod holes? You need 8 of those for sure and four guys holding it up. Good luck

impossible Pontiac is not a LS where you can use to long dowels to hold up the lifters .. If it can be done I can't wait to hear how.... Your loaded $$$$$$ just take it apart .. Or magnetic pushrods Build a fixture that sits on the heads .

I was thinking about coat hangers, go down through pushrod and hook tie-bars to pull the up.
Just looking for something outside the box. |

Coat hangers cut and looped around the tie bars. And the other end wrapped around the valve spring. Long skinny needle nose pliers can help. Also a skinny magnet can help,go get surgical my friend!

My 1st set of roller lifters could do that.
They had springs on each lifter against the tie bar, when no pushrod pushing it down they would 'pop' up the lifter so the wheel was higher than the cam bore.

I have used them on small black Chevy’s before. They work great!

How bout 16 of those telescoping magnets and use clothes pins to hold them up, like we held the lifters up on a Y-Block ford.

I wanted to say 16 telescoping magnets but I figured that would cause more money.

With the magnets how would you release the lifters? Don't want to accidentally pull the lifters out of the bore.

You would probably have to use something to push down on the lifter.

The reason I said 8 magnets so u can stick a pushrod on the other hole to push the lifter down separating the magnet to the lifter.

My concern with using magnets is the possibility of magnetizing a metal piece of the lifter.

When is this dyno session taking place?
What do you think Slowbird? Are you going to try to change cams on dyno day?
