Default 63 Tempest 8.50 Cert.

Well guys car was delivered. I’m looking for pics and advice to build a 8.50 cert. grudge car on 10.5’s. Will be a under 500cid build and possibly manual shift car. I’m tossing ideas around of a Pro Charger and Liberty combo but to early in the game to decide. I’m in western NY and will be looking to retain most of cars original structure.

I remember being at that point with my Tempest. It's been a long time. If your experience is like mine, you have years of hard work and fun ahead. Good luck!

Thanks Jim and Dan. I hear ya! I’ve had my 64 for 22 yes and still not done. Taking the performance stuff from that and transferring to the 63. The Goat will be retired and put back to near stock for my wife and girls.
Jim is your car ladder bar or 4 link?

It's a 4-link. I took out all the original running gear and sold it. Art Morrison built the 2 X 3 rail chassis and hung the four link and the front crossmembers, etc. The rest I did in my garage.

Seems like you have an idea of what you want. Only real questions are, how much "less than 500" are you wanting, how much boost, and on what fuel? Many ways to approach it.

Where in Western NY? If you need a shop recommendation for anything, and Long Island isn't too far, let me know.

I’m way Western NY, south of Buffalo near PA line. Not sure of end game on power plant. Going to keep my options open and focus on getting the car and chassis built first.
