yes, right stuff makes the 1/2 in steel & stainless. fit & finish is very good.

inline tube makes it as well but the one they sent me was terrible, the flared end was very rough & shaped wrong & would have never sealed, had to fight with them to return it for a refund. had issues with inline more than once & its a hassle to return or exchange. right stuff's customer service is excellent when needed.

I bought an 1/2 stainless line for my first gen.

My one note would be to be prepared for nasty shipping costs. I think shipping was basically the same cost as the line in my case.

actually shipping is very reasonable for these long fuel & brake lines, they bend them in half or thirds & they fit in a not too big of a box. my fuel lines & brake lines shipped separate & the fuel line was like $65 but shipping was only about $25 5-6 years ago. a quick check at right stuff shows only $30 shipping for the fuel lines now.

Might depend on location, I was in So Cal at the time. But I wanna say I paid like $65 for the line and $60 in shipping. They folded mine in half too. I actually made a thread at the time to see if anyone else in the area wanted one. Inline told me that it was the same cost to ship 10 as it was for 1.

I dont regret it, Im actually thinking about buying a 2nd to use as a return. Currently I have a -8 AN line all the way back for return and I can smell the fumes.

location will change the price a little but usually not that much... california zip from right stuff in OH shows $45. its not cheap but not too bad considering the shipping price increases of today & nowhere near the price of the 12/" stainless line at $109. regular size line is $72.

& the cheaper non teflon braided line has a service life, usually 5-7 years. but tons of cars out there going much longer on braided line. until i see rubber debris in my filters i can deal with some vapor smells.

Maybe they just saw a sucker coming. Who knows, it was a while ago. I dont want to hijack the thread too much but I hear you on the braid. I used good NHRA approved stuff, but when I installed that return line I definitely noticed an increase in gas smell. I put a mask on that had been in the car for a few months fermenting before I walked into a gas station a while ago. That was an uh.... intense olfactory experience. Im about to install vintage air and want to start driving it more so Im looking to get rid of the fumes.

Back to the original topic, I think the OP is on the right track with the oversize stainless line. Just expect your purchase price to shipping cost ratio to be on the high side.

I just did a 2nd gen bird with the stainless steel 1/2" feed and return lines that worked out really nice just this past year.

No need to bend them for shipping on an early 2nd gen when I bought them. They come in 2 pieces anyway to make that junction from the body to the frame and the sections aren't that long. Just like the factory lines.

I ordered a pair and ran them side by side for the feed/return.

I can't remember now if I got them from Inline or Right Stuff. I buy from both frequently.

I recently ordered a set of 1/2" lines (supply and return) from Right Stuff for my '68. They're stainless. They look well done but I haven't yet installed them yet. They're bent to follow the factory locations and because of the turns the lines take, they connectorized the lines in the middle to ease installation. The turn around was a little longer than expected but they told me 1/2" was a custom order. Company was really good to work with.

Thanks guys
I bought my stainless brake lines from Inline Tube. Was real happy with the fit. I’ll check with them see what kind of turnaround they have

Agreed. Stay away from Inline Tube. Right Stuff is a much better company and easier to deal with.
