Sticky crap on floor
I'm just going to fix a few crusty spots in the floor.
Now I've pulled the carpet and I found this sticky crap.. Just curious whether this is original or someone stuck it on at some point in time?

Looks like the insulation from factory. Gets brittle with age.

Thanks, so it is factory stuff. We'll it's coming off and I'm going to patch a couple places and then apply some new sound / heat barrier and probably a new carpet as well..

^^^ this ^^^
50 years ago this was the good stuff. Now, not so much... Much better heat and noise barriers available these days. |

Its all gone now but I do need new front floor pans and patching on two more places. All in all probably not too bad.

I remember that stuff. It was awful 27 years ago when I put new rugs in my car and I bet gets worse with age or maybe easier as the glue gets let sticky with time. Good to see you got it all up and out.
