Oddball tool
If anyone has a need to check leakdown of a shortblock (without heads) you're welcome to borrow this plate I made up to fit over any cylinder of a traditional Pontiac engine. For instance, if you found excess leakdown on an engine and after pulling a head, want to know positively how much of the leakage is due to the cylinders.
After assembling the shortblock for my lakester I was concerned about possible ring damage while installing pistons (sleeves should have more chamfer at the top). If there had been an issue (there wasn't, all are 96-98%)) it would have been much easier to correct now, before assembling the whole top end. That's the only reason I made this plate, so I don't expect to use it often.

That is actually more like a "Cool Tool"
Not something that would get used a lot, but would definitely be valuable from time to time. Honestly when I read the title of the thread, I thought you were going to rant about another forum member! LOL God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...closed.614419/
