Primary wire on distributor
Hello, sorry to be bombing all this week with questions. I am starting to connect all the wires up on my engine. The distributor has a large black 1/8th inch 2 feet long wire coming out of the side. When I look at wire diagram in the service manual, it just says Primary, and does not show it going to anything.
This is the only wire that has me stumped. Thanks |

'55 wiring diagram from the Service Manual on Safari Larry's web site here https://www.pontiacsafari.com/55/Sho...nstruments.pdf
shows that wire connected to the - terminal on the coil.

Thank,s after reading further into the service manual I figured it out. What had me wrapped around the axle was the extremely long length of the wire. At first I was thinking it attached to the starter solenoid, but that made no sense, and the wire diagram did not reflect that either. Thanks Bill.
