I have a new eagle stroker crank and you guessed it, the thrust surface is rough. I installed it in my newly line bored block and I have .004 to .0045 end play. How much do you typically have to take off to get these things smooth enough. I read somewhere that the thrust needs to be .0035 to .009, I would rather be as close to the lower range as possible. Should I send the crank back?

Recommended end-play is .006-.008". You have plenty of extra "meat" there to polish the thrust face to a tolerable finish. As cranks are on the back-order list right now, you could negotiate with Eagle to pay the crank guy to polish the thrust.

That sounds good. I am taking it to my machinist today and see what he will charge to polish it. I'll get a receipt on it and see what I can do.
