Hey guys,

Not Pontiac related but thought i'd ask anyway, what sort of ignition do you guys run with your 6/71's? I'm helping a friend get his SBC running and its got a 6/71 sitting on top of it. I've heard that specially with nitrous you need a retard device and just curious if same rules apply to blowers? An MSD 6BTM has been suggested to us but wanted to confirm with 'experience' first.

Cheers
Kris

Yes. I use and recommend the MSD retard units with any power adder application.

Cool thanks Ken, just wanted to make sure before we started laying out cash. Blowers are a new world to me.

Accel 300 Plus with the remote control box. It has a very good price (cheaper then the MSD) and it also has more power then the MSD Boxes! http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Anyway....... a retard box (no matter the brand) is needed for safety sake.

Money isn't an issue with this guy. He already has about $95,000 and 9 solid years into this machine. He's crazy I tells ya!

Ken: I forgot to add that the car is going to be nothing but a trailer trophy queen which is why so much money has gone into it, will never be a finely tuned race car. I severely doubt it will even touch a race track with the amount of detailing work gone into it. Such a damn waste! and its not even a 2door! http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
