Putting a 86 305 with auto into a 80 Grand Prix and have a couple of questions.
This car had a 455 Pontiac and a turbo 400 and a 10 bolt posi with 3:73 gears.

The motor and trans has been sold and would like to put this body back on the road as a daily driver.

I would put another Pontiac motor in it but I have a 86 chev 305 (41,000 km) complete with tranny just sitting around.

Will this bolt directly in with a couple of mods?
I will change the motor mounts from the pontiac to Chev.
I have a tranny crossmember from the 86 GP, and all the exhaust. Will these work?

I would like to keep the rearend as it is. Will this cause a problem as the gears are a little steep? (3:73 posi)

Thanks Ken

Ken,
Did you ever get a chance to run your GP at the track before you took the 455 out?

Nope motor was never ran at the track period http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
It has less than 10 hrs of run time.

Motor is still in car but gets removed in April.

Things may change as all I have gotten so far is a deposit (non refundable) from the buyer so who knows http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
