My brother bought a rebuilt 76 400 motor with 6X heads and is having some issues with parts not fitting.
Windage tray- is there one to fit or were these just for earlier motors.
Intake manifold- what year will fit? Will a new Edelbrock fit? The extra exhaust port is exposed on the older manifolds.

Any help!
Thanks

Windage tray - You can drill and tap the maincaps to make one fit if you have the skills and tools, but it really isn't worth the trouble. Plenty of racers making big power omit the tray.

Intake - The new Edelbrock intakes (Performer, RPM, Torker II, Victor) are made to fit all of the Pontiac heads from '65 on up (except the 265/301 and rare RAV). The extra port you see above the exhaust crossover on '72 and later heads is a 'dead hole' that leads nowhere, no exhaust gas is emitted from it. The Edelbrock intakes will seal both early and late crossover styles when used with intake gaskets that match the heads used. http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
