I am looking at a built chev 400 with a 400TH trans. i am wondering what it would take to get that into my 66 starchief executive. the built 389 that i have in in now is going to be going into my lemans. the 400 is built and it is a good price. any info or storys would help. thanks.

#1 You will devalue the car by a lot more than you will save on the engine. Add in a new transmission ,wiring, motor mount welding, driveshaft mods possibly new radiator etc I dont think you will save anything. Buy the 400 sale it and buy a pontiac 400 and keep them both stock

Exactly, a '66 Starchief isn't a really valuable car to begin with and its going to cost more than what the car is worth to put that motor/tranny combo in it. Scout your junkyard for a 350-400 out of a 70s GP or Firebird and drop it right in.
