I've found a 67 Catalina 2+2, I've been looking at it for about 6 months now, when I get near it.
I dont have the numbers handy now but have verified it and it is very original. Only problem its been sitting outside for many years now. It has water in the floors but is not rusted through. Needs a total restoration in every aspect of the word but its all there. Alot of rust through around the rear window, have not seen inside the trunk but under side of trunk is not rotten.
Its an auto on the column with buckets and no console. Original 421 with tranny are in it.
The guy wanted $2000, I offered him $1500, rejected. Now it just sits in the woods with a 67 gto HO 400 auto (in same shape as 2+2) and 2 64 2+2 convertables that are rusted to heck, one has original 389 in place. Theres also about 10 of those 8 lug rims out there.
Someone comment on this, should I persue this guy, I don't know if he will sell anything else, just havent asked.

it's worth a try , especially if it has been a while since you last visited. sometimes a persons plans for their projects , or financial situations change and they might be willing to sell for a cheaper price. usually persistance pays off.by the way , welcome to the forums!

I would persue the car if you are up to the challenge. I would also ask about them 8 lugs. These are some sweel looking cars when restored.

You are aware the 421 is the incorrect engine, right?

Do you have any pictures of the cars?

I havn't taken a camera out there with me, I will next time I go. Its about 2 hour drive.
As for the 8 lugs, some are in good shape. Just the steel rims though. On one of the 64s the center caps are on two but in poor shape.
I have a book that shows and speaks of the 421 2+2 cars in 67. The 421 badges on the fenders are just like in the book. The engine trans code on the block was correct for the 421 auto. Your the pontiac guy though SpartanMSU, what would the correct engine be?
I'll be back in that area next week and I will get pictures of all numbers and post them. Will also take pics of all the cars.
Thanks for your help, more welcomed!

The standard 2+2 motor for 67 was a 428 producing 360 HP. I do not see a 421 motor offered in 67.

OK undoughtably working from memory is not going very well for me. I'll double check the year, get the info off of the car. I was sure it was 67. I look at a lot of cars and may not have the year right. Definitely a 2+2 and a 421, mabey its a 65. Stacked headlights and kinda of a V line on the hood runs from the windshield to the front of hood.
