Ok heres the thing. I have a 67 lemans/GTO CLONE and it has a 350ci in it. I was told by the guy we bought it from the the motor was out or a 68/71 GTO. Well I put a new carb on this weekend and I took off come of the old pontiac paint and it had chevy orange under it? So know i dont know what I got. The only #'s I could read is, TOP OF MANIFOLD-GM1481733, FRONT LEFT SIDE OF BLOCK: 024493 (YU WAS UNDER THAT), SIDE OF HEAD-H228. Any help would be great, because im new to pontiac's.
Thanks,

Only the '74 GTO came with a 350, all the others had 389, 400 or 455 engines. That intake is a '71 Pontiac 4-barrel 350/400/455 intake, the YU block may be a 265HP '69, 255HP '70, or 250HP '71 350 2-barrel. The H228 date code indicates that the heads were cast in late '68 so I would guess the engine is a '69 350. Look for a date code near the distributor hole at the back of the block. Definitely not a GTO engine. http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
But if it runs good, that's great. http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
