Welcome to the forums. If you cannot locate a kit, check the website listed in my profile.
Jon.
Good carburetion is fuelish hot air.

It might just need driven and blown out.
Warm it up for a few miles then open it up a couple times. High compression engines carbon up real easy.

Thanks for your help. Will "blow out the cobwebs" & see how she behaves.
Still need to "tinker" w/carb. Choke plate sticks a bit.

When I started working on cars 30 years ago I use to pull carbs all the time thinking that was the problem 90% of the time I was wrong.
Spray it down with gumout, check for binding, adjust the air/fuel mixture with a vacuum gauge or a tach. Did you try to adjust the large center screw it brings up the idle.
Good luck http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I installed a kit from The Carburetor Shop. The kit is quality stuff and everything went in. Runs smooth & great above 1500 but idles poorly if at all. Made all kinds of adjustments to the idle mix jets, checked valves, vacuum (steady @ 21 & 1500 + rpm), linkage, choke and had a Chrysler mechanic spend some quality time on it.
Jon or anyone experienced with this please let me know what to look for.
Thanks

jon's kits are great, too bad they stop at 74.
hint, http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif hint again jon.
re the running bad a low speeds.
look for vac leaks, cracked hoses, loose fittings ect. plug the brake booster line and seeif it gets better, ect.
check your points settings and be sure they're at 28 deg of dwell.
does adjusting the idle mix screws on the carb change how the idle sounds?
if not those passages in the carb may be plugged.

Mike, thanks for kind words.
To be honest, we don't sell enough kits newer than 1970 for the 1971-1974 to be profitable. We did extend to 1974 on most brands for two reasons: (1) the last real GTO; and (2) Stromberg (to which we purchased parts and restorations rights) end at 1974. Kits for Autolite carbs end about 1968. Too much variation of parts (smog emission), and too little demand.
We would be happy to extend BEYOND 1974 on specific kits if we had a sufficiently large order to do the research, and produce the tooling (we do already on a few industrial kits). Sadly, I don't believe there is sufficient demand for the post 1974 Q-Jets, but would be delighted to be proved incorrect.
Remember that the commercial (parts house) kits are discontinued if they don't sell 1000/year of a given kit and these kits are MUCH more universal than ours (not as many individual parts).
