68 Bonne Conv restore starting

HI everyone. I'm about to get a 68 Bonne Conv to start a long restoration project. I need some direction on this engine numbers you all talk about. I haven't gotten them off the engine block yet- but will soon.
I have a VIN of 262678 E 138414. Where can I look this info up?

Hi Show and welcome. I am also new here with a 67 GP convertable project I am just starting.If you get all your casting #'s off the block and post them I will try to help.

Got my first look at the engine this weekend- Engine block has 021337 YE. I think this means it is a 400 V8. ATX.
Also on pass. side of header I think it was H147.

That's it so far. I know it has the Qudrajet Card whihc looks like it needs a rebuild by someone. Thanks, Brian

I'm working on a 68 bonne convert as well. Maybe we can exchange infomation and parts leads. My car is fairly rough, nonorginal engine and lots of rust. My car will be a driver and I hope to make this a "rolling resto", meaning I hope not to take it off the road for any extended period of time. Started with front end overhaul. U-joints might be next.

Another darksider here. I guess I am a little further along then you guys. I purchased a '67 GP convertible that is a partially completed frame off a while back and have slowly been collecting parts and starting reassembly. This summer has been spent rebuilding/replacing all the wiring, rebuilding the heater box, restoring the dash and console, installing the new exhaust, and restoring and installing the gas tank and lines. I hope to fire the motor before the snow flies and then spend the rest of the winter putting the interior together.

A couple of things for you '67 guys. I just OKed J. Pinto to rebuild my convertible top switch, not cheap, but reasonable considering he is pretty much the only game in town and seems like a decent guy. Don't loose or ruin your gas tank straps, very hard to find. I ended up modifing a set of '68 straps to fit. Also for the '67 try to save the exhaust hangers that go on the back of the mufflers, so far I have only seen one set go on sale and it sold for over $300.00! ( I was willing to pay $150 myself! ) And finally be carefull when you take your console apart, I didn't have the housing that holds the light for the shift indicator and it took me most of the summer to finally find one.
