400 in astrovan

Lotsa peeps put 350 chebs in the asto/safari vans these days,
So here i am with a astro van needing some torque, and a 400 poncho sitting in a cutlass!
Bought it that way!
Has anyone ever swapped A poncho into an astro?
There is issues that i know of like the whole drive train is off centre so rearennd will have to be custom to handle the power.
What i need to know is what mounts to use to do it?
Its a 1974 block btw.
And the astro is an 88
The cutlass may be a goner but the motor,i'm hanging onta!
Two kids an an old lady,i guess you could say i want the best of both worlds and freak out the ricers at the same time!!

Wouldn't a 400 poncho be too wide? Especially if you have an A/C car?

I don't think it will be too wide? I hve also seen 454s and even a 455 olds in one of these!
just need some help with the mounts from someone who may have experience with this swap.

Other than over hang of the firewall and cowl doesn't the Astrovan swap compare to an S10/S15 swap like this:

ya the swap is similar, I know it will fit and all but need to know what to use for mounts?
just get some 301 mounts? Or fab time?

You probably need to bolt the upper and lower mounts to the engine and lower the engine into place using the trans as a guide for front to back. Then mark the crossmemeber where the mounts hit and drill it.
