How much can you safely mill Edelbrock heads? I have some 87cc Edelbrock heads I'd like to use on my 400. Zero deck, flat-top TRW pistons.

I milled mine .075 with no problem. I have heard that you can go up to .100 but then you have to be careful that your head bolts don't bottom out in the block.

Also remember that with aluminum heads you can run about a point higher compression than an iron head on the same fuel.

Ditto. My 72 cc units were milled .070".

When milling the heads that far, did you take some off the intake side of the heads so that the intake manifold would still fit, or did you mill the intake manifold itself?

What I do is have the same amount taken off the intake side of the head as is taken of the deck of the head.

Just be aware of piston to valve clearances, also. I milled my heads and then had to use 1.50 rockers in order to get enough clearance with a zero-decked block. The 1.60 rockers didn't provide enough clearance.

Mach 5, in my case, all the above. My block was decked as well. The intake side of the head and the intake were all milled.

Don’t even ask about getting a Wenzler T-ram to fit properly!

Does anyone know approximaately how many CC's are removed for each .010" cut on the 72cc heads?

I read that you lose about 1cc of volume for every .005-inch material removed.
