View Full Version : 70 buick 455 motor mount question

I have a 79 trans am with a 455 olds already in it with a cracked block( not my fault it was the owner before me that did it) but I went and found a 70 buick 455 to put in there and was wondering if I will have a prob with the motor mounts, bolting the trans and ect. any help would be great before I pull the motor out and find out it wont work..... thanks guys

You'll need to order a set of lower motor mount pads, that bolt to the crossmemeber. It will require drilling the proper holes in the right place. You can get help and parts from TA performance, the biggest Buick source. Headers, mounts and performance parts are available there. It's a good engine and light weight. It should not present too many issues beyond the special lower mounts.
Trans will swap directly. I believe the starter is on the same side as well as the fuel pump but my memory is cloudy on that.
