this is a pretty easy swap. I have a 86 GMC suburban that was previously 6.2 diesel powered. I stuck a 350 Pontiac in it and this winter am upgrading it to a 455.

Your best swap is to use a 70 or newer block. then get the motor or frame mounts and manifolds from any 73-77 intermediate Pontiac. If this swap is done neatly no one will be able to tell it wasn't put in there from GM. http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Here's a pic of the "Poncho-Burban with the 350 about ready to pull out.

I agree GM missed the boat on this. I put a 400 Pontiac in an 82 chevy great truck untill the body rusted off around the engine.

it looks so much better with a pontiac engine in it.
