I have to set this up for a street car.
It came with 88h's and f&b power valves.
The pv holes are .093 I'd like to use a front pv and plug the rear valve.
Does anyone have any tips on this??

I agree with Jack on this one.

With the cam duration you have you would be better off just eliminating the power valves, jetting up
per his recommendations, etc.

I would make sure in all cases that you have a notched float in the rear bowl, jet extensions
either slip on type or screw in type, and the rear
plastic vent shortened to approximately 1/2 of the front plastic vent's length. This will still keep the fuel out of the airhorn on decels but will allow hard accels without the fuel climbing the rear bowl and entering the vent.

I have spent countless hours tuning my street\strip(mostly strip) car with 8896 Dominator to achieve decent drivability without hurting WOT. I have tried several times to run without power valves with the Victor intake. It was almost undrivable. Performance was equal, but driveability suffered badly. I run a 3.5 pv in the front with 87 jet. In the rear, I use Holley jet extensions that have been drilled out(some have small ID) I run 98 jets in the rear with no pv. I also run the front float level a little low. THis will delay the fuel to the booster a little and improve part throttle smoothness. In addition to this, I use .040 idle air bleeds, .060 intermediate bleed and .0465 high speed bleed. Please note that the intermediate and high speed bleeds are far from stock specs. In back to back testing 2 weeks ago, I went back to stock bleeds and made several passes jetting to max MPH and et. Went back to my old set-up and immediatly picked up a tenth and mph. Car was very nice to drive also. I think the larger air bleeds introduce more air into the fuel with helps atomize it better leaving the carb. Please note that I am at sea level, your jetting may be different. My combo is similar but 462ci. As a side note, my car is 1 tenth quicker with modified torker 2. Larry Navarro can post a pic if he reads this.

Torqjunki,

Great post!

Always good to have another view on the subject.

With really low vacuum cams most guys give up on the power valve in the front as they rarely tune
air bleeds too. Maybe with your recommendations a few more guys can try the power valve again.

What is the rest of your combo?

My 80556 1150 Dominator came with 5.5 power valves f&r. My 9375 came with the plugs installed. I ran faster with the 9375, which is for a dual carb application, over the 8896 which is supposed to be for a single set up.

Tom...It is a 462 with #62 d-ports flowing about 260cfm @ 28". Cam is 271/278 Ultradyne roller ground on 106. Lift is about 660 with 1.65 rockers. Compression is about 13:1. 1 3\4" headers with 3" exhaust with X pipe and Ultra flows. T-400, 3.73 gear, cal-tracs. Best pass on this combo is 10.28 @ 130. Funny thing is, the car went almost identical times with the 271\279 solid flat tappet I just replaced. I know this is off the subject matter Tom, but could you post or e-mail your thoughts on my new cam selection. THis cam seems too small. Lots of lower and mid, but no upper. Converter goes 4600.

In response to Dave's earlier post about the T2 intake he modified for a dominator application, here's the pic of the business end of the "Torqjunki 2" intake. http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
