"African Money" Scam

Hi Everyone
I just got word from another member that he was approached on our Forums with this scam. Here is what he said:
"I had a guy today from South Africa try to buy some parts from me that I had advertised on the site. He wanted to send me a check for $1700 for $200 worth of parts! He then wanted me to Wire him the remaining $1500 back to him via Western Union! How this scams works is that he would put a stop payment on his check and then I would be out the entire $1700 plus my parts I sent him!!!"
It's in your best interest to not get involved in any transaction like this.

It happens all the time on a local classifieds web site here in Utah. Almost every ad I post to sell parts I get hit with one of these dip ****s. I just tell them to bring the cash when they pick up the item because they never want you to ship to them. I never hear back.

I had several people try this on me, I involved the police and fished them along as far as I could, even got phone#'s through sources and came up empty handed, some people need to wake up and work for thier money
