GM 4 Bolt Main Roller 1 Piece Seal Block

I am about to swap my engine, which is a 350 old style block 4 bolt main for a GM 4 Bolt Main Roller 1 Piece Seal Block. Reason being I was told that this block takes more hp and is easier to maintain. And I just purchased a Vortech V1 Supercharger system for carburetor and plan on making some serious hp numbers. I was just wondering, do these both blocks hold up pretty good or should I upgrade my current block ( old school 350) to hydraulic roller status. Or jus purchase a GM 4 Bolt Main Roller 1 Piece Seal Block for a reasonable price. Thanks in advance for your input. Let me know if I missed any important info so I can post up.

I would use the old block if I was to go to a newer style block I would go to a world product or an after market block and do the stroker routine as there is no subtitute for cubic inches and a stroker has lots more torque

Comp (and others) makes a very good "retro-fit" hydraulic roller system for the small block.

The earliest 350 blocks ('68-'72) are alledged to have more nickel in the casting. Many of the circle track racers insist upon the early block. We've seen no serious issues with the later ones, except unusal wear in the front main bearing.

i know of alot of guys running high hp 1 piece rear main blocks. most of those engines are FI motors but still over 500hp. depending on what you call serious hp, if you want anything over 700hp its best you go with a motown block or a dart block.
