327 in 67 Lemans

I bought a 1967 Lemans with a 1968 or 69 327 motor. The motor is bolted up and thats about it. Will I have any trouble with the trans fitting or wiring?

First off. Welcome to the board! It would help if you gave a little more information on what all cam with the car. The starter on he Chevy engine is on the right side of the block, Pontiac has it on the left side. Chevy has a different bellhousing bolt pattern than a Pontiac, so you will need a Chevy transmission or an adapter, if it's an automatic. If it's a manual, it should bolt up to the Chevy bellhousing but you'll need the correct clutch discs for the splines on the input shaft. When you have more questions, and you will, throw them out here and someone will answer them. Incidentally, I'm totally against putting a Chevy in a Pontiac, but since you bought it that way, figured that I would try to help.

I also bought my 67 Lemans ragtop with a 327 chevy motor. The car was originally a stick car and still had the clutch pedals installed and the z-bar in the trunk. I rebuilt the motor found a "used" clutch, pressure plate and bell housing at Hershey flea market and found a saginaw in the next row at the same flea market. All I needed to buy new was the ball that goes on the engine for the z-bar. Everything worked fine with the 327 motor, I swiched the battery tray to the other side and used the original holes in the inner fenders to mount it. The driveshaft is the same for 2 speed auto and manual. The wiring looked to be the original lemans wiring but the guy before me may have done something when connecting the starter up. My car ran mid 15's in the quarter with the saginaw and a serious lack of traction. The header I have bolted right up as well. I have since done a frame-off restoration and am converting back to pontiac. Need a slightly worked 327 in the Phila. area http://forums.performanceyears.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ?
