Bad deal: Josh Bivens

about two months ago I sent off a money order to a Josh Bivens of 1009 chestnut valley road vonore tennessee 37885 for 30 dollars inreturn he was supposed to send me a right and left front fender flares for a 78 TA and ever since I mailed the money he has not responded to my e-mails I have sent at least 5-6 and two months later still no parts. Now I e-mailed him and told him that I hope that this was just some misunderstanding but if he did not at least reply to one of my e-mails I was going to inform everybody I can about this. Also I was browsing the classifieds on Texas Trans Ams and I saw a post about not to do buisness with him so be weary. His e-mail is [email protected] Ya ya I should have known with a hotmail account well at least it was only a 30 dollar lesson.

get a hold of attorney generals office in his home state.interstate fraud is what it is.went through this on $350 item on ebay.after almost 3 months,item showed up couple of days ago.get a hold of pontiac car clubs in his area.thats another thing i did.got info guy that f-d me was big into mustangs,rattled some cages with them in his area.must have worked.........

ya that is a good idea with the AG. Ya it just sickens me that he would scam me for thirty dollars I mean all that trouble and bad publicity for your name for a lousy thirty bucks must be desperate. I will of course posta retraction if he ever makes good but as of now the guy will not even respond to my e-mails. you what really sucks is a year ago I responded to a classified ad and got a hood latch and a couple of front fender flares all for 80 dollars well I got the hood latch but never got the flares but this guy was honest enough to send the money back I donot know what happened with the fender flares but I got my money back for them minus the 15 for the hood latch and now this guy stiffs me for these i guess I will just wait and buy some repros from Performance years probably what I should have done in the first place.

I didn't say we'd do anything bad to this guy, just stop in and have a few words with him. Maybe figure out what happened to Bigpop's parts. Besides, I know if I got the bad end of a raw deal I'd want to go see what happened and since bigpop is too far away to do that, I volunteer to do it for him.
By the way, us vigilante's have it pretty hard nowadays--everyone else is taking care of their own problems....lol

I live less than 8 mi. to this Gentleman, after all we should give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe his church group or his involvement with the PTA has him too busy to attend to his side business or financial responsibilities? :rolleyes:
I'm guessing that this guy has a classic of his own, he know's how to dupe car people. What I'm proposing to do is make a couple of run's through his neighborhood to see if this pans out to be true. If so, it wouldn't be hard to find out which Burger / A & W / VFW place he hang's out, and on which night. As we all could imagine, it would be very EMBARASSING to be called an A$$h*le crook in front of our peers!
I know the small amount of cash in your case is unimportant really, but can you imagine, at 30 and 80 buck's a shot on E-Bay, across the internet/global, someone could " clean-up ", financially speaking.
I personally am interested to see what's up with this guy for three reasons:
1) I hate getting screwed
2) I hate anyone getting screwed
3) I hate my that 401k is in the *****ter! Sorry, wrong Forum!

I agree with everybody I DONOT think I am taking this to personally he is a crook plain and simple he said he had the parts ask for money order or cash no checks so I obliged then nothing it has been almost three months nothing he will not answer any of my e-mails. In fact I e-mailed the day i sent the money order and to tell me when it came in so I know it got there. He screwed me plain and simple he is a thief.

I went through something like this with a money order... Contact the post office and get a trace on the money order, they will either give you confirmation it was cashed or they will cancel it and return the money. This will be important to know if any legal action is taken. In my case the MO sat for months and was never cashed.

I've been out west, and away from the board, so I have not been able to give my input.

My dealings with Tom Grindem were for a pair of 64-7 hood hinges. I paid by personal check, which was cashed. After 2 weeks of it clearing my bank, I emailed him about 4 times asking if he had shipped the hinges. There was no response Then I got his number and left a couple of messages. Still no response.

After about 2 more weeks, I called 3 more times. Obviously the guy could have been away on business, in the hospital or a number of other reasons why he couldn't ship my hinges. But I think that over a period of 6 weeks of me trying to contact him was enough.

I basically gave up at this point, and hit the internet to find out all I could about Mr. Grindem, which I forwarded to bigpop.

Sooner or later, I'll retreive my $$ or something of equal value.

only thing to do with these guys is go after them.had a guy email me after seeing i had been ripped off.i told him what i did,he contacted theif and told him he was contacting att gen office,guess what?his parts,a set of heads,was in the mail next day.if you let them off once,they will screw somebody again.
