Caprice Police Package In My 65 GTO

Hey guys, I want to buy one of these cars and use the motor and tranny, rear and disc brakes and keep the fuel injection to put in my 65 GTO. Any problems or major modificatons needed? I was also thinking about a 93 to 95 Z-28 instead of the Caprice, any advantages between the two cars? Thanks

with the lt-1 engine you will need sbc mounts, it will be a great swap. The major cost in doing an efi swap are computer reprograming, engine wiring, and the fuel system. I put a 6.0land a 4l80e trans out of a 2002 suburban in my lemans.it is so cool to update that old iron.

also you might want the camaro because the brakes will be easier to use.

The Camaro brakes are easier to use???.The caprice has the B body spindle which I and other companies have inst. kits for.

Is there not a kit to use camaro calipers? also would the rear brakes be best[and easiest] to swap?

the police package caprices also came with sluggish L05 TBI 350s. I assume your talking about the LT1. Only difference is the caprice should have iron heads instead of the aluminum found on the camaro. The iron heads supposedly flow better from what I have heard.

The iron head motor also has a slightly milder cam. I have one from a '96 Impala SS in my '67 Impala SS, I love it!
