chevy small block in a 64 catalina

Yes I know what you guys are going to say about putting a chevy in a pontiac and I cannot believe that I am going to do it, but for financial reasons it makes a lot of sence. So with that out of the way, what needs to be done concerning motor mounts (could impala mounts be used?) and the transmission mounts?I also want to put a muncie 4 speed in as well, are the driveshaft yokes different? The driveshaft I have now is the stocker with an automatic trans yoke. Is there anything else I need to consider?

Having had an SBC in a 76 T/A I know the wiring will need to be extended or moved around...starter on the other side...alternator on the other side etc.
Fuel delivery is on opposite sides....pump on a SBC is on the RH side vs LH side on a Pontiac.
Don't know about the mounts...in a T/A you jsut use Camaro mounts or late 70's Firebird with SBC mounts...but I'm not familiar with the early chassis set ups.

yes use the impala mounts after all they are the exact same chassis. the 4 speed will use the same trans yoke as a th350 . the th400 is larger. the shaft length will also be the same going from a th350 to a 4 speed

You may be able to use the Impala mounts, but the chassis are NOT the same. There is not a single part on any full size Pontiac chassis that is the same as that on a full size Chevrolet chassis through at least 1970. The only exceptions being the Canadian-built Pontiacs which did use a Chevy chassis.

Well The old motor I have in the cat is not giving lots of oil pressure (about 3-5 pounds at hot idle, 33 on freeway) and I have been given a 350 smallblock and a richmond t 10 4 speed. My last quistion concerns the trans mount, can it be made to work with shat I have, or is one going to have to be fabricated?
