'67 GTO power steering/ non tilt.
--Lower steering column bearing assembly...
Any idea where you can get the ball bearing bearing (?) that is inside that plastic adapter that slides up and gets "c"clipped onto the steering column sleeve up near the firewall? it's part #41 in the diagram in the resto book. Group 6.525
Green's Obsolete parts has the adapter but not the bearing. My bearing itself, seems to be pretty worn and sloppy/loose. Anyone ever messed with this? (I'm going through other stuff while doing other stuff on the GTO (can't do just one thing on 'em at a time)
Thanks!
James

As you have found, new lower bearings for these are nonexistant. Best choice is good used lower bearing retainer & bearing. Try the following vintage column builder. Call before 4:00 if you want talk to the column builders.

Gary was too cool. He gave me a "tip", which I'll share here for others.
Use a '69 bearing, which is still available from GM, and "dremel out the Retainer a bit" to accept it. "Doesn't need to be to perfect.." I'll look into this.
Thanks Roger!

Ok, a followup to this. I am still trying to figure out what to do about my steering column lower bearing.
I have a fella that has a very decent used bearing from a '66. I cant see it as he lives far off. Sooo I was wondering if anyone knows if the bearing for a '66 A-Body is the same as a '67 A-Body. This is a non tilt floor shift GTO I'm dealing with.
I have looked in all my books and I cant get a part number only a group number. I dont have all the hollander stuff.
Thanks for your help!
