Had my LeMans out for a 100 mile run Sat. Oringal 326 2bl about 83K. Just installed new stock timing gear set cause old one had bunchs of slack. Same water pump, stock fan with 50/50 coolant mix ( 2gal coolant and 2gal water) New VDO electric temp and oil guage. Runs great, no smoke but has low oil press- idle 18, highway- 27-30. At 60-70 on I-10 the temp is 190-195 ( T-stat is 180 )Idle will drop to 180-185. After driving home I let it idle 5-mins and removed the cap, there was some pressure but was released quickly, there was this white, clean foam in the raditor, smelled like anti-freeze,no oil smell ( use 30W only) this foam cleared up in a min or two. Level has not risen or dropped, right where I filled it to. Would a tank capture system help here? ( Cap is new and correct press.)Is this a normal temp for an old engine? Thanks Guys, JR.
