LT1 in a 69 bird

I don't want any "don't do it's" and this and that please. I want to know if the frame mounts fot the pontiac engine will work with the lt1? If not anyone have the part # of the ones i need? Also what is the stock diameter of the 69's fuel line? Any help is appreciated.

Seems like it would require camaro upper and lower mounts for an SBC... Also the accessories are mounted on some LT1's in such a way as to hit the frame and fenderwells..

So are the chevy and pontiac "old style" different from eachother? I have the old style chevy ones on the block now but I still have everything in the firebird so I can't compare them together.

I can't say with 100% on that but It's my recollection that the Pontiac engine is place very differently than the SBC in a Camaro. The Pontiac is biased to the passenger side and back so... I'd be willing to say the lowers are not remotely reusable in your swap.

You should be able to by repro lowers from Rick's Camaros or Classic or Year one etc.

Jim Id say do it Im new to this site, and dont know how the other guys feel about it but id say go for it. you will need sbc motor mounts and that front acc. drive may be tricky but it will be sweet. I am getting close to starting my swap, a 6.0 ls1w/4l80e trans. Alot of fuel and wiring consideration but worth it.

Get a camaro body. Sell your Firebird to someone who knows what belongs in it.
