It's Not uncommon for some smart person to improve a ford product! I've seen a Pontiac engine in a Dodge truck!

I resent that. You GTO guys have been using Ford 3 speed trans in your cars for years and were happy.
I have a Ford 9" rear under my 64 GTO.
All kidding aside, several of my friends in Kansas have swapped the Pontiac Traditional motor
into Diesel Suburbans, GMC late model trucks
(the Pontiac engine was stock on some early GMC
trucks), and even Ford trucks. Tom V.

Back in 1971, I sold my Crower hydraulic cammed, dual quad, 389, that I had raced for four years, to a guy that had broke a rod in his 421 powered '56 ford pick-up. He tore it down and told me that the only thing that needed to be changed was the timing chain and it would have ran circles around the 421.
