I have been kicking around the idea of building one of those AC 427 Cobra Kit Cars.......but putting a Pontiac 455 with a 4L80E behind it. What do you guys think?
69 Firebird, FINALLY installed the Pontiac 469.

Funny, I was literally just thinking the same thing yesterday. I really luv the look of the AC Cobra but like the Pontiac motors. Unfortunately I suspect those cars respond best to very high reving small blocks. Since they are so light, I suspect traction is already a major issue. The 455 can only make things worse. I could be way off here, but that was my initial take. I'm intersted in what others have to say.

Torque issues aside, I think that your big issue will be the 4L80. Those cars have a 90 inch wheelbase. Even when they use short manual transmissions, the driveshafts end up being only about 14 inches. With a HUGE 4L80 you may not even have any room for a driveshaft. Something to consider.
