I have waited as long as possible to post a message like this, but I have no other options at this point.
Back in early April "mike schneider" <
[email protected]> agreed to sell me a rear sway bar from an early '70s B-body. We agreed on the price with shipping, and I sent payment via USPS. The item was never received, and I have gotten no response to numerous emails and phone calls. I am only out $100, but want to warn others to stay away from him. He is located in Russel, KS.

Cap,
This guy may actually have a real problem that has kept him from responding, or he may be a thief. I really don't know. If you find anything, let me know, but keep in mind that it is only $100. It is just the principle of the fraud that ticks me off . . .

fastgto,
I appreciate the effort, but until I am sure that he is actually a thief and not recently diagnosed with some incurable disease, I don't want to post his address publicly. I know it is protecting the "guilty", but I am not looking for revenge or retribution on this guy. I would like either my part or my money back, of course.
Cap, thanks for the effort. Like I said, I appreciate the support from the members of this board, and I will gladly do what I can to help any other Pontiac brethren whenever I can.

You guy's make it sound like $100.00 is just pocket change. Even in 2005 it is a substantial amount of money.

Anybody live anywhere north of Orlando?
I sent a guy $500 for an engine a couple of years ago, and he never sent it. He won't answer phone or mail either.
I filed a complaint with the post office and they said they didn't do anything unless there was a pattern of fraud. I contacted the local authorities and was told I had to take it through civil court, which required me to be present to try to collect.

USPS uh? That could be considered Federal Mail Fraud. You might want to call your local postmaster.

The guy who screwed me is in Bellevue, FL. I think it's just south of Ocala and north of Orlando.
I tried the USPS postal fraud route. I typed up a complaint on their website, then they sent me a form to fill out. They sent him a copy, and he ignored it.
The post office didn't bother to pursue it because there wasn't a history of fraud.
I guess the lesson is that you can royally screw one person and get away with it, unless you pick the wrong person and they decide to take it out of your hide.
If I were making a trip to the Orlando area any time soon, I'd take him to small claims court while I was down there.
