I have a '72 Bonneville 4dr hardtop which is my daily driver. I am planning on rebuilding the front end in the next couple of weeks. The car has 118k miles with visibly deteriorating bushings throughout the front end. I plan on buying a complete rebuild kit from Performance Suspension Technology (PST) with polygraphite bushings and replacing the center link, springs and shocks. PST also offers a sway bar for some kits, though I have not inquired to see if one is offered for my car.

I wonder if you guys might have recommendations about how to go about this rebuild - personal experiences, etc... I am not striving to make an SCCA champ out of this barge -I would just like to make it as responsive as possible.

check out the suspension forum. there are a couple of recent threads that cover the basics on suspension rebuilds.[gto is the same basic suspension] while you have the car apart install new front springs also,it'll make a worl of difference in the ride/ handling. mike

If you are putting in springs might as well drop in new ball joints to. I would replace all that I could if you plan on keeping the car. Finding parts for it 20 years from now will be a bit harder and more expensive.
