I feel real stupid asking this question but here goes. I bought a factory am radio off of ebay for my 67 goat. Seller is a gtoaa member so i dont doubt that it works.. I d rather sell my 1st born than doubt another member. Anyway I wired it to a 6by9 speaker from wall mart and pluged in the antena. All i get is static.Ive checked the connections at back of radio and speaker. What am i missing? Thank you

Good Question J.Ryan!I'm looking at the '67 AM radio I have and I'm trying to find the place where you adjust the the antenna.Success..I found it!Just above the RH knob is the letters ADJ/ANT,you will probably have to remove the knob and flat piece behind it to see the hole where you fit a small flat head screw driver in to adjust the antenna in.This should help you get some stations.*Note (A/M probably won't have too many stations to choose from anyway)!Good Luck 1-GTO

I saw your post.... I wanted to let you know that you should not use that wal-mart speaker in the car, because it has too much resistance. The radios used to have a sticker on it telling you to use a 10 ohm speaker only, otherwise youll have too much resistance and burn the amp out in the radio. Find yourself at least an 8 ohm speaker, preferribly a 10. Just trying to help. Rich

Actually it sounds like your am radio is working just fine. Without an antenna extended to the full length, my am radio only gets static. With the antenna, I get about 5 stations across the entire band- 3 are legible, (one spanish), and the other 2 are broken up.
I think the adjustment is a potentiometer.
