500 engine in catalina 66?

no engine and one caddy 500 -72 engine
why dont put it together and use the car?

It will work. A few guys here use the cadillac 472/500 in chevy pickup trucks (with turbo 400). You would probably be happier using a pontiac 455 in this application, however. There are more performance parts available for the pontiac.

Farmer, this place says that they have swap kits for almost any vehicle to swap a Caddy engine.

The Cad will work with the TH400... It is a direct bolt-in in that sense. The Cad has engine mounts at the front of the block however, so that will require some fabrication. The oil pan is another area of concern as you need a rear sump, although the Eldorado middle sump pan may work. The stock exhaust manifolds may also work but big block Chevy headers will fit with the addition of adaptor flanges. Look up The Cad Company out of Florida. I fabricated an oil pan and frame mounts to put a 500 in my 68 ElCamino. Very, very good engine.

Sanderson also makes shorty headers for the Cad 500, if you don't feel like fabricating your own. The stock style maifolds are very restrictive.
