It has been bought to my attention, that some of the new blocks will not be allow to bore to 4.373 with out filling.

Whaddya mean,Lou? What's the max. bore sizing, then. Does that mean you can't get 540 inches with a 4.5" arm? Help me understand here.....

From the two sonic test results I've seen, the max bore of 4.310, and you would still have to fill the block. So the gain over an old block which can be bore after filling to 4.210-4.225 is a whapping .060

Dick has stated that the Block is fine. However an added plus over a stock block would be that you could build a 1000+ hp motor and not worry about it splitting in half. A big plus!

I, like a lot of Pontiac racers would be just happy for a block that can handle 1000hp in any cubic inch (428-510) as once you achieve 700hp (this is a rough estimate) things just start flexing all over the *^###ing place. So any inprovement is a blessing. This block isn't for the average racer that's not having problems. NOS/Blowers/turbos/weight put a hellava strian on main webbing support so if you have actually LOOKED at the block & seen the added support cast into the block with the spacing allowed I'm impressed. Also how much of a bore do you think you can get with the center spacing already given (Factory set) & allow for wall thickness for cooling & strength. Lay it out and do the math. Your working with a given set of block parameters & demensions. My 2 cents again. Later

I know I should probly not say this but I think it would be neat if a block basically a BBC was cast with block mounting provissions for pontiac engine mounts, starter location and bell houseing dual style. I woul d make for a easier conversion allow use of all the common parts and still be unique to pontiac. Please don't hurt me !!!!

A Camaro or Chevelle can take a BBC with no problem. The motor mounts and starter are cheaper.

How many years did it take for Steve B.'s record to be beaten by Jeff Kauffman? It's proof that "we" have come along why with the products that are offered today.
