Has anyone had any dealing with Northern Auto Parts?

Not recently, but in 2001 I ordered an overhaul kit for the 330 Olds in my '67 Cutlass convertible from them. I ordered slightly prematurely when the machine shop told me I could go .010" under on the rod journals. When it turned out I needed .020" rod bearings, Northern didn't give me any trouble about returning the original .010" under bearings.
They also let me substitute in an Edelbrock Performer cam and lifters at no extra charge. Everything else in the kit was fine; normal brands like Sealed Power, Speed Pro, Fel-Pro, etc.
The prices were great, and IIRC the shipping was fairly prompt. The attitude on the phone was never particularly friendly, but they didn't charge me any extra for the grumpiness. :)

You really should be more specific regarding which company you're asking about. A quick internet look shows at least two Northern Auto Parts companies, one in Iowa and one in Minnesota. And I believe there's a Northern Auto engine shop in the Buffalo, NY area.

Recently bought a set of +.030 455 rings off of e-bay, turned out to be northern. Quick to ship, sent along a catalog, early feedback. The one experience was good, would try again.

Ive ordered from them and I like the service and the parts. All the times I have called the guy on the other end had a clue.
