Chromeworks- warning

For now, this is just a warning, since I'm not to "the bottom line" of it yet. Chromeworks (formerly Finger Lakes Metal Finishing) of Geneseo, NY has had my M/T valve covers since April of this year, along with the $160 I paid to polish them. They were supposed to have been done in six weeks. When I last talked on the phone to a person there (about two weeks ago), I was promised once again that "they would look for them". I haven't been able to get an answer at their phone since, but did get an aswering service a couple days ago. I left a message that in a couple of weeks I'll file in town of Geneseo small-claims court for $250.
I really don't know what's going on, and hope it works out okay without court. I've used them a number of times in the past, and have been happy with their work. In the meantime, be warned that I think something bad has happened to the company.

Update: My court claim was due to be heard two days from now, 10/5/05. Got a call from Chromeworks today that they all-of-a-sudden "found" my covers, and will finish polishing them tomorrow! Said they will deliver them to my house (an hour drive) and reimburse me my court filing fee plus some gas money, since they don't wish to appear in court. I still don't know what happened to them for the last six months or so, but I guess I'll need to find a different plating/polishing shop.
At least the court system worked this time.

Final update (at least for now): Got my rocker covers back today! They also delivered them and refunded the court filing fee and some gas money. Good polishing job, as usual- my 40 year old M/T's look like new. I listened to the apologies and story of how their workforce downsized while the workload kept increasing. They've stopped advertising and plan to turn away more work, and hope to get squared away. I can understand how this happened, but haven't decided whether to use them in the future.
