I got my lemans started this morning that 6.0 started up like just like it should. Next week I'll put in the driveshaft, bleed the brakes,and hopefully get my shifter in so I can get the pipes hooked up. Then it will be ready for its first ride. jim

sounds good. i too am thinking about this swap for one of my cars. do you have any photos? what did you do for motormounts? I've heard that the 6.0L truck motor (denali/escalade) with Zo6 heads is the one that is often recommended for swaps because of its HP potential and lower cost.

what are you going to put the 6.o in? I have a 68 lemans convertible. I made my own motor mounts and I am using the truck acc. drive with the fan also. The truck intake clears fine but had to trim the inside of the hood on one of the ribs to clear the intake. I will try to dig out some pics and learn how to post them jim.m

well, i will probably get flack for saying it on this board but i was thinking about putting it in my '65 gto or '64 tempest. i don't care what people might say but these are much better motors with better technology for far less money than building another poncho motor. I like to drive my cars. I tried my GTO as a daily driver a few years back. it lasted 3 months before the oil pump rod went through the block. that was about the second or third time i had the motor apart. the machine work was done by a top SS racer and engine builder.

for my '64, i've got a killer BBC in mind because i already have it (i was into corvettes for a while). basically, it's an all alum BBC with kinsler fuel injection. so i was thinking of making a silver state car out of it.

I hope i'll have less problems than with pontiacs. btw, there are a lot of pontiac drag racers on this board but when was the last time a pontiac engine ran successfully in an endurance road race? BBCs were used in race vettes and Can Am cars against some stilff competition.
