I am looking at potentially having Vic Decker at 1st class Auto Restoration strip and repaint my car. They are located on Route 33 in Freehold, NJ.
Anybody heard of them? Anybody use Vic in the past. Comments appreciated......
If you wish, please drop me an email with your phone number and when a good time to call you would be. I would like to discuss your experiences.

When I stopped by, I saw a 66 GTO being worked on in there. One of you guys or gals must own it. He had 3 cars in the shop and about 20 out back under covers. Why so many out back under covers, in various degrees of being done concerns me about his ability to get in done in a timely fashion. Is this normal? He told me it would take two months to strip, fix and repaint.

Usually, when cars are "waiting under cover" at a resto shop, the client has stopped production due to $$$$.

Curious, with you in Florida you couldn't find a reputable person/shop in the south to do your work? NJ is a long way from Florida.

Mark,
The car I want to paint is currently stored in NJ. Do you know of any other shops that are reputable in NJ ?

That is a good reason for having the car done here! Nostalgia Motors of Boonton, NJ did my car, a complete frame off resto. He has restored many muscle cars including GTO's and my car did win a concours gold this year at the GTOAA Northeast Regionals so that says a lot for his work. The owners name is Bob and the number is 973 299 1959. Not cheap but top notch work and your dealing with a full time real restoration shop, not some part time operation. Tell him I gave you the #. They have a website too. Good luck with your project.
